Islamabad : One woman was killed and at least 15 people were injured in a blast at an Italian restaurant here Saturday evening, television channels reported.
The Geo TV website reported that officials had confirmed the death of a foreign woman. Most of those injured were also said to be foreigners. Over 15 of those injured were taken to hospitals in the Pakistani capital.
The blast occurred at the rear Luna Caprese, an Italian restaurant near the city’s Super Market, the TV channel reported. Foreigners, mainly from the diplomatic community, frequent the restaurant.
The channel said the nature of the blast was yet to be ascertained. It took place at 8.50 p.m. local time, the middle of the dinner hour on the weekend, though the restaurant was not very crowded, TV reports said.
