A division bench of Justices Vikramjit Sen and P.K. Bhasin asked the police to probe the matter and submit the report by April 21.

The bench was hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Salma Bano, a native of Maharashtra, who moved the court alleging that her two daughters aged 15 and four had been kidnapped by Prabhakar Shinde, heading an NGO, in December last year.

Bano also alleged that he married her minor daughter Reshma by promising her a job.

Reshma, looking for a job, had met Shinde in Maharashtra and but he abducted her and later married her after forging her birth certificate, according to the complaint.

The court fixed April 21 as the next date for hearing of the case.
