Cairo : Permanent representatives of the Arab League have held an appeal meeting requested by Palestine to discuss the latest development in the Palestinian territories.
A source from the Arab League told reporters Tuesday that the representatives discussed a memo prepared by the League regarding the latest development in the Palestinian territories in response to previous decisions made in the extraordinary meeting of the Arab Foreign Ministers a couple of weeks ago.
The source added the memo also delved into a proposal to form a fact-finding committee on recent developments in the Palestinian territories, which held its first meeting on June 18 where an agreement was reached on finding a mechanism in documenting the tragic incidents and the bloody confrontations.
The memo also pointed to the new political reality in light of the recent developments which gave Israel a chance to continue its divide and conquer plan along with aggression and abuse to the Palestinian people.
The memo called on all Palestinian parties to unite for the benefit of the Palestinian people.
