New Delhi : Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles of Bahamas made a shock exit while Leander Peas partnering Czech Lukas Dlouhy won in the first round of the French Open at Roland Garros Thursday.
The fourth seeded Bhupathi-Knowles combine went down 4-6,4-6 to the unseeded pair of Australian Stephen Huss and British Ross Hutchins in a match that lasted a little over an hour.
Meanwhile, ninth-seeded Paes-Dlouhy pair brushed past the challenge of Thai pair Sanchai Ratiwatana and Sonchat Ratiwatana, beating them 6-2,6-4 to move into the second round.
