“The incident took place when the victim was sleeping in her house at Poot Kalan area of Sultanpuri. The accused, Om Prakash alias Mangu, barged into the house and tried to assault the woman at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday,” a police officer said.

“When her neighbours heard her screams, they came to her rescue but the suspect fled from the spot,” the officer added.
