Iranian oil minister to attend oil meeting in Madrid

Tehran : Iranian Oil Minister Gholam-Hossein Nozari will leave Tehran for Madrid to attend the opening ceremony of the 19th World Petroleum Congress, Iran’s English-language Press TV said on Monday.

Nozari, who is scheduled to address the congress with participation of 3,000 international experts and oil tycoons, will arrive in Madrid on Monday heading a delegation of Iranian officials.

According to the organizing committee, OPEC Secretary General Abdullah al-Badri, Executive Director for International Energy Agency (IEA) Nobuo Tanaka and giant oil company leaders such as Exxon, Pemax, Gazprom, Repsol, Shell will participate in the congress.

The congress will discuss ways to cut oil price and review the causes of the current soaring price, reported Press TV.

The World Petroleum Congress which was established in 1933 has 60 members across the world.
