Washington and the U.S.-led Multi-National Forces in Iraq deem the bombing a terrorist attack against civilians, the statement said.

The U.S. and MNF forces will work closely with the people and government of Iraq to rout the perpetrators of such barbaric acts, the embassy pledged.

The terrorist acts will only lead more unity among the Iraqis in the face of Al-Qaeda organization, it added.

At least 21 people were killed and 72 others were injured in the attack that rocked Tal Afar, south Musol, weeks after the U.S.-backed Iraqi forces launched a crackdown on al Qaeda militants in the area.
