New Delhi : An employee of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here was arrested Saturday for allegedly trying to molest a teenager inside the hospital premises.
The incident came to light early Saturday when the victim, a patient’s relative, alleged that Gyan Chand, a sanitary worker, misbehaved with her, AIIMS medical superintendent D.K. Sharma said.
The girl in her complaint alleged that the accused misbehaved with her after finding her alone in the casualty ward.
“The case was brought before me earlier today. We have lodged a complaint with the police and have handed him over to them,” Sharma said.
“He is a permanent employee of our institution but we will not tolerate any such indecency. If he is found guilty, we will take action against him,” he said.
No police official, however, was available for comments.
