Liverpool stadium plans delayed again

"Our commitment to building a new world-class Liverpool Football Club stadium is undiminished," the club said in a statement Friday. "Like many other major development projects in the UK and overseas we are affected by global market conditions and, as such, work on the project will be delayed in the short term. France confirms intention to bid for Euro 2016

By DPA, Paris : The French Football Federation (FFF) has confirmed that it intends to bid for the right to host Euro 2016. In a statement posted on the FFF's website Friday, the federation said a confirmation letter would be sent European football's governing body UEFA before the application deadline of March 9. "We are going into to this with the objective of winning," said FFF president Jean-Pierre Escalettes. It had been rumoured that France would look to co-host the event with Italy but the FFF have plumped instead for a solo bid.

IPL will not allow Shoaib to play: PCB media advisor

Werder Bremen first club through to UEFA Cup quarter-finals

St Etienne, who last season finished fifth in the French first division, but this season have slipped down into the relegation zone, rested several key players including Paul Machado. Coach Alain Perrin explained before the game that the club's priority was to fight against relegation.
