Srinagar: One militant was killed by security forces in a joint operation in Pulwama district, while a minor died and two others were injured in two explosions across Kashmir Valley.
According to ASP Pulwama, an encounter took place between militants and a joint party of Pulwama Police and 55-RR at Panjran in Pulwama in which one militant was gunned down.
The slain militant has been identified as Sheraz Ahmed Mir s/o Muhammad Ashraf Mir of Mole Chitragam and belonged to HM outfit.
One AK-47 Rifle, one wireless set and some ammunition has been recovered from the site of encounter.
Meanwhile, an explosion took place in the compound of house of Muhammad Ramzan Malla resident of Gundi Dachan Bandipora.
Due to explosion his son identified as Basti Ramzan Malla got injured. The injured boy succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.
Police has registered a case in this regard and has taken up investigations.
Two persons sustained minor injuries when unidentified militants exploded an IED planted in a Maruti car at Bijbehara today, a police spokesman told News Agency of Kashmir.
The injured have been identified as Gulzar Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Hassan of Bijbehara and Abdul Rashid Dar son of Muhammad Ramzan of Khudwani Kulgam
Police has registered a case in this regard and has launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.
