Hyderabad: To put pressure on the government for formation of Telangana state without any delay and to demand withdrawal of the cases against Telangana activists, Muslim Forum for Telangana (MFT) organized a press conference on 20th December at Basheerbagh Press Club in Hyderabad.
Expressing its deep concern over the delay in the process of formation of Telangana state, MFT demanded the central government to introduce the Telangana separate statehood bill in the Parliament without further delay.
The Muslim group also condemned the state government for arresting Telangana activists and demanded their release unconditionally.
Giving reason as to why they demand for separate state, members of MFT said that they are fed up with cruelty and injustice with the Muslims and capturing of Waqf lands and lands belonging to Muslims in united Andhra.
“Urdu was the official language for 224 years i.e. from 1724 to 1948 under the Nizam rule. After that Urdu is mixed in the Telangana language as pearls in a string. The reasons for demanding separate Telangana are not only water, resources, political representation but also because Telangana language was not given its due respect for the past 50 years” reads statement issued after the press conference.
They blamed that because of police action on 17th September 1948 the people who lost everything were mostly Muslims and also they lost their language and culture after the formation of Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, Muslims representation in assembly and employment are equal to zero.
“In 1969, a big rally was taken out from Charminar to Rajbhavan to demand Telangana state, in which a number of Muslims participated and today also Muslims are supporting the movement and actively participating in the struggle for Telangana” they revealed.
They also requested the Andhra and Rayalseema Muslims to support separate Telangana statehood as development of Muslims, Dalits and Minorities is only in the separate Telangana. They urged them not to believe emotional words of Andhra and Rayalseema political leaders.
They also claimed that they have received the messages of President of Jamat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), A.P and Orissa units that JIH has taken the stand for Telangana statehood.
However, Prof. Jayashankar while speaking at the press conference said: “State Assembly has no role in the formation of separate state; it can just give its opinion on formation but not consent. According to Article 3 of the Indian Constitution the bill has to be passed in the Parliament. Therefore, if the government of India is firm on its decision, then no one can stop the passing of bill in the Parliament. So, government should pass the bill otherwise civil war may take place.”
The press conference was attend by many office bearers of MFT and some other organizations namely Lateef Mohd Khan, Dr.Rafat Seema, Khaja Moinuddin, Prof. Kodand Ram, .V.President, MPJ, Kaneez Fathima, Nayeemullah Shareef, Adv.Yahiya Khan, Mujahid Hashmi, Jamaaluddin, Dr.M.A.Malik, Ms.Azmath Qiyam Basith Khan.

Urdu must be made the official language
The reason for the different culture of telangana people is because of the influence of urdu language. The telangana culture can be protected only by making urdu as the official language of the new telangana state.
Muslims of Andhra have to discuss before any demand is made!
1. Muslims of Telengana must realize what will be their demographical mark would be tin juxtaposition to that in united Andhra Pradesh?
2. The official language would be Telugu only and NOT Urdu.So the bogey of cultural advancement of Muslims will be an eye wash only!
3.Hyderabad being the metropolis of the state enjoys many facilities.If it is to be made the capital of a small Telengana state , it will loose many advantages.
4. The losses appear to outweigh the advantages
So Muslims have to be ver careful about supporting the Telengana call.

I support united Andhra
I am from Telangana but i support united Andhra. The problems that comeup after separation would be terrible for India as a whole. There will be such animosity, that people will start killing each other for water, region etc. We can live with smaller problems than having such bigger problems that it gets easier for ISI and Chinese to infiltrate and create havoc. Infact, i would support a united South India. The corruption would be much less the bigger it gets as there will be checks and balances. Look at Jharkhand, Uttaranchal and their development. They are one of the most corrupt states. Look at the tribal leader Koda who amassed huge wealth. Hope good sense will prevail and people will accept united Andhra. Telangana politicains should fight for greater funds from AP for their development and get more water. They should set this as a precondition for stopping the agitation for separate statehood.
Also, one should understand it is the KCR and his political goons who will benefit a lot and not the people. He is securing his family future and his caste for decades if Telangana comes into existence.
Muslims are the losers in
Muslims are the losers in united Andhra. They have a better future in Telangana. But the new government must come up afirmative action in the new State of Telangana.
There is a insidious campaign to separate Hyderabad from Telangana. How can this be tolerated? How can Nizamabad, Adilabad, Kareemnagar, Secunderabad, MahaboobNagar etc be separated from Hyderabad?

I ask you why we need united andhra? Any reason except that you want to show your strength to center? just for showiing stregnth you want telangana ppl to suffer? do you know that 1600 crores have be spent by AP government and telangana got 168 crores why? telangana generates 60% of revenue and only 20% spent in telangana why? yes some will blame politicians and politicians will say we cannot do anything because CM does not issue money to telangana or someone else is stopping etc. Now these politicians are vexed and want their state so that they don't have to ask anyone. i don't if these politicians will do something good or bad. but these politicians will have the money to spend if they won't now they don't have someone else to blame. more over the 60% revenue of telangana will be spent some how in telangana only. so we would have better benefits than 20% given by AP government now.
