Muslim bodies to Hyderabad Police: Express regret for maligning community

By TCN News,

Hyderabad: Now that the CBI is concluding that Makkah Masjid blasts could also be the handiwork of Hindutva terrorists, several Muslim bodies have urged the Hyderabad Police to express regrets for maligning and castigating the Muslim community and presenting Muslim youth as unpatriotic and disloyal citizens of motherland soon after the blasts in 2007.

In a letter to Hyderabad Police Commissioner, the Muslim groups demanded action against responsible police officials for airing their views in public and through TV channels immediately after the May 18, 2007 bomb blast at the historic Makkah Masjid, even without verifying and ascertaining facts. “Such a course will help in desisting repetition of unfounded news by police and also help Muslim recovering from wounded psyche,” the community leaders said.

They also demanded compensation and rehabilitation package for the innocent Muslim youth tortured, kept in illegal confinement in farm houses and elsewhere and subjected to illegal and unconstitutional Narco analysis test following the blasts.

They demanded the police to investigate if any trained Hindutva terrorists are hiding in the Hyderabad city to execute terror activities.

Suspecting the role of locals in Hyderabad blast, several Muslim youths were arrested. Likewise the role of local outfits and moles be investigated and arrested with regard to bombs being planted and blasted by Rajasthan based Hindutva activist and organizations. “Specially in the light of revelation from Colonel Purohit’s ceased laptop, the police should check whether any trained personnel out of 60 trained by Col. Purohit are present in Hyderabad, planning for further disruptive activities.”

The letter written on the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of Makkah Masjid blasts gives details about the latest disclosure about Hindutva terrorism in the country.

Now it is a fact that the modus operandi was same and there were many similarities between bomb blasts at Makkah Masjid in Hyderabad on May 18, 2007 and at Ajmer Dargah on October 11, 2007. The Makkah blasts killed 9 persons offering prayers while 3 devotees lost their lives in Ajmer. Bombs numbering I and 2 were used in the blast at Hyderabad while 3 and 4 were used at Ajmer.

The leaders condemned the flawed probe in the Makkah Masjid blasts. The City Police investigation led to illegal detention and wrongful confinement of large number of Muslim youths in farm houses and various other places, where they were subjected to torture and third degree methods.

The signatories to the letter are: Mohammed Mushtakh Mallick (President, Tahreek Muslim Shabban), Syed Hamed Hussain Shuttari (Spokesperson, Sunni Ulema Board), Advocate Syed Taraq Quadri (General Secretary, Soofi Academy), Advocate Allauddin Ansari (Muslim League, Andhra Pradesh), Advocate Abdul Rawoof (Ahle Sunnat Milad Committee), Abdul Sattar Mujahid (President, Indian National League), Mohammed Mehboob (A.P. lslahe Muashera Board) M A.
