Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal Wednesday congratulated Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the ruling Janata Dal-United (JD-U), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance for their electoral victory in the assembly polls.
In a statement here, the BJP leader said: “The people of Bihar have rejected the Congress which was pursuing anti-people and anti-poor policies.”
He said an increase in the BJP’s tally in Bihar showed the faith of the people in the development programmes initiated by the party in various states.
The JD-U-BJP alliance rode to victory on its development plank and won 206 of the 243 seats.
