Patna: In a dramatic turn of events Lalu Prasad’s brother-in-law Sadhu Yadav has been arrested along with his body guards this afternoon in Gopalganj, allegedly for violating Model Code of Conduct (MCD).
He filed his nomination from Gopalganj assembly constituency on a Congress ticket this afternoon. An FIR has been lodged against Om Prakash Yadav MP, Siwan also for the same reason.
Model Code of Conduct a set of model recommended practices formulated by the Election Commission and is designed to ensure smooth, free and fair election.
MCD has been operational in the state in the wake of coming six-phase Assembly poll from October 21 to November 20.
The elections will be held on October 21, 24 and 28 and November 1, 9 and 20. The results will be announced on November 24. Elections will be held in Gopalganj in its 4th phase on October 28.
