While welcoming the decision of the UP Sunni Central Wakf Board to appeal before the Supreme Court, it assured all kinds of support to ‘Babri Masjid Legal Aid Fund’ proposed by All India Muslim Personal Law Board to carry out the case in Apex Court.

It also called upon all secular minded people as well as all political parties that stand for secularism, rights and justice to support Muslim community in its effort to pursue justice in the case.

A meeting of AIIC national committee was held here on 20th Oct. to discuss the various aspects of the verdict and concluded that the verdict is a blot on the tradition of Indian judiciary because it rejected facts and records and depended on religious belief and claim of some sections in the Hindu society which is contrary to nature of law and justice.

AIIC termed it as a good sign for secularism of the country that a number of prominent non-Muslim thinkers and leaders have exposed the dangers contained in the judgment. It also decided in association with other organizations to conduct programs for creating awareness among the people in this matter.

“Country remained peaceful in the aftermath of court verdict because the Muslims with due respect for rule of law has exercised utmost restraint in spite of the pains that engulfed their heart. Otherwise communal fascist forces created an offensive atmosphere through their propaganda, machinery and mass mobilization” the meeting observed.

The meeting was attended by many office bearers of AIIC from different parts of the country. They include Maulana Usman Baig, President AIIC, Maulana Jameel Shahabi, General Secretary, Abdunnasar Baqavi , Secretary, Mufti Ihthiramul Haq (Karnataka), Maulana Shadab Azeez (UP), Qari Irfanullah (Rajasathan), Moulana Ubaidullah Noori (West Bengal), Moulana Abdul Qadar Muneeri (Tamil Nadu) Moulavi Abdul Rahman Baqavi, Moulavi Abdul Rahiman Darimi (Kerala), Moulana Muhammad Jabir (AP), Moulana Shahid Kot (Maharashtra) and Moulana Muhammad Haneef (Goa)
