Mirwaiz invites Indian political parties to visit Kashmir

Srinagar: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Wednesday appealed to political parties of Indian to visit Kashmir to assess the ground situation.

Addressing a gathering at Sarai Bala, Mirwaiz said the situation in Kashmir should be eye-opener for the world community as well as for the Indian civil society as well. “I am satisfied that Civil Society of India and many organizations admitted the fact that Kashmiris were fight for their rights and their struggle was peaceful,” he said.

“I appeal to political parties of India to shun narrow mindedness and prejudice and visit valley to witness the reality of our just cause” he added.

Meanwhile, Life was normal after four days in Kashmir while Maisuma youth continues to be critical in hospital.

Today as the call for a working day by Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, normal life began early across the Kashmir region on Wednesday.

All shops, commercial establishments; schools colleges resumed their work for a day. However, Maisuma continued to remain shut in protest against the serious injury caused to JKLF Chief Yasin Malik’s cousin, Yasir Rafiq, who is fighting for life in hospital.
According to Agence India Press city reporter, markets were witnessing rush of people, as local residents was buying essential things. Besides, long queues were noticed outside banks and ATMs.

The Kashmir Valley had been rocked by violence since a teenager’s death on June 11 allegedly after being hit by a tear smoke shell near Rajouri Kadal area of the old city. Street protests broke out in the Valley and claimed 65 lives during over two month turmoil.
