Srinagar : As political leaders gathered in the national capital for a crucial all-party meeting to discuss the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, life continued to be at a standstill across the valley Wednesday with indefinite curfew in force in all major towns.
Curfew continued in towns such as Srinagar city, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kangan, Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian, Pampore and Bandipora, police said, adding that 12 security personnel and 13 others had been injured in different stone-pelting incidents Tuesday.
Protesters attempted to set ablaze a revenue office in Sopore town Tuesday night and the office of the municipal committee in northern Handwara town but were stopped by police, officials said.
The valley has been under curfew since 18 people were killed in unprecedented violence on Monday, Sep 12, taking the toll of people who have died in the ongoing unrest to 88.
