By TCN News,

Kolkata: Muslim Students Organisation of India (MSO), a group of Sunni Sufi Muslims, has reiterated the demand of Muslim reservation in the light of Ranganath Mishra Commission Report. At its Peace Conference held in Murshidabad on 20th November, the group also revived the controversial petro-dollar supported extremism issue.

At the conference, the youth group demanded establishment of quality modern educational centers in Minority concentrated districts. MSO also supported the proposed Central Madrasa Board.

While demanding removal of Waqf encroachments, MSO demanded that the recruitment of the Mutawalli should be done as per the Waqf deeds, but at the same time the group raked a controversy by asking the government to “ensure that no Wahabi should be appointed as the Chairman/CEO/Mutawally of any Waqf Board or Waqf Property.”

At the Peace Conference, MSO revived the controversial extremism issue raised at the Moradabad conference of its friendly group All India Ulema & Mashaikh Board (AIUMB). In a resolution passed at the Murshidabad conference, the group said: “Islam means peace & it preaches tolerance, brotherhood & harmony but unfortunately with the help of Petro dollars and foreign ideology some extremist elements have become a big threat for humanity as well as for the internal security of the nation.”

However, at this conference they did not miss to mention Hindu extremism which was missing in the resolution passed at Moradabad. “It was also discussed that any ideology (Hindu/Muslim/Others) which preaches hate & poses threat to humanity & to the Internal security of the nation must be stopped,” said the statement of MSO.

They also demanded the Government to frame the Dargah Act to protect & run the Dargahs as per Sunni Sufi faith.

The conference was attended by several Sunni Sufi leaders including Syed Babar Ashraf, National Secretary (AIUMB), Shahnawas Warsi, National Secretary (MSO of India), Allama Ziaul Mustafa Qadri (All India Sunni Jamiatul Ulema), Maulana Shoaib Raza (Bareily Shareef) and Mufti Ghulam Samdani Razvi (Mufti-e-Azam, West Bengal).
