Syed Faisal jumps to death while running away from police

Hyderabad: The city police’s prejudice against Muslims is now evident from the events unfolding after the communal clashes. Till now 10 persons have been arrested by the special investigation team for recent communal clashes, out of them 9 are Muslims. Moreover, the police are downplaying the arrest of the lone Hindu youth for desecrating a temple.
On Saturday police arrested Shiva Kumar for throwing beef in the Pocahma temple in Bahadurpura area of old city. That incident of beef throwing resulted in serious tension in that locality. But the city police downplayed the whole act of Shiva Kumar as an act out of insecurity feeling. According to south zone DCP Manish Kumar Sinha, “Shiva Kumar ‘sahib’ was feeling insecure because his locality was surrounded by Muslims, he had seen how police security was increased after the beef was thrown in a mandir in the new city area. So to get a police picket in his area he did this act.”
The Police have not just downplayed the whole incident of beef thrown by a Hindu youth in a mandir with an aim to escalate existing tension in the city, the police have not taken this incident as a lead to investigate other cases of temple desecration which have created communal clashes and resulted in the arrests of several Muslim youths.
On one hand police are trying to protect the Hindu youth hiding their age, and cooking a victimhood insecurity story. And on the other hand police is leaving no chance to target Muslim youths, and even indulging in arrest of innocent youths on the basis on information provided by their informers.
In an unfortunate incident a Muslim youth named Syed Faisal Mujeeb age 30 years resident of Asmaangadh area died in his attempt to evade the police arrest. Faisal was sitting outside his home with some of his friends; when he saw a group of police in civil dress approaching him. He ran and tried to escape the arrest. From his residence, he jumped into the neighbor’s house but fell down into a water sump which was covered by teen sheet. He died on the spot. After seeing the incident, Police team who were in civil dress immediately fled the scene. Faisal was a cab driver married one year a go, his wife is now pregnant.
Half an hour past midnight, the local police came and took the body of Faisal for postmortem. Immediately some Muslim youths from that area gathered and reacted on the highhandiness of the police which resulted in minor clashes. The environment of the city is now tense after the news of Faisal’s death to evade police arrest became viral.
