IIBFI to offer online certification course in Islamic finance

Chennai: Institute of Islamic Banking Finance & Insurance (IIBFI), Chennai, is launching an online Certificate Course in Islamic Banking Finance & Insurance for Students across India and abroad.

The course to be delivered through the Internet is designed to provide a basic understanding of the principles, nature and form of Islamic Banking, Finance & Insurance, as is relevant to those entering and/or working in the financial services market. This course is aimed to help professionals gain the knowledge of and appreciate the purpose and need for the different principles involved in Islamic Banking and Finance and how they differ from conventional banking models.

According to Mohammed Asim Farooque, Director Administration & Academics IIBFI, “The emergence of Islamic Banking as an ethical alternative to the prevailing conventional banking system in the aftermath of the global financial crisis has prompted governments around the world to recognize the benefits of Islamic Finance and Banking. Thus, Islamic Banking and Finance has seen a renewed growth in the recent years because of the resilience it showed during the recent down turn.”

Students can enroll in the course till Aug. 30th, 2012. Certificate course which is of 6-months duration will begin on Sept 14, 2012. Fee for the program is Rs. 12,000 for Indian students and NRIs and $300 for international students.

IIBFI will be conducting weekend classes in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bhopal, Madurai, Coimbatore, Cochin, Pallakkad & Bidar. For international students classes will be organized in Bahrain, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Emirates, UK, USA & South Africa.,
