Four CRPF troopers wounded in Kashmir blast

Srinagar : Separatist guerrillas Thursday lobbed a grenade at a hotel wounding four paramilitary personnel, two of them seriously, in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

The attack on the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) took place in the northern town of Sopore.

A police officer said the guerrillas targeted the battalion headquarters of 179 battalion of CRPF near the main bus stand in the heart of the town, 54 km from here.

“The grenade exploded injuring four CRPF jawans. They were immediately evacuated to hospital. The condition of two is serious,” the officer told IANS.

The area around the hotel was immediately surrounded by security forces.
