Popular Front wants the share of minority welfare enhanced in AP budget

Hyderabad: Popular Front of India’s State Secretariat made review over the state government’s annual budget 2013-14 and demanded the Andhra Pradesh government to increase the share of minority welfare in the proposed budget.

The budget allocated for the welfare of Minorities includes Christians, Jains, Buddhists etc., along with Muslims, 1027 crores to minorities is very less with regard to their population in this state, they said in a press statement.

Budget allocation the minority welfare this year has been increased this year by 110% compared to last year, but PFI pointed out that the 1027 crores allocated are only 0.63% of the state’s budget, which is 1.61 lakhs crores.
