Dr. Ambedkar remembered at MANUU

Hyderabad: Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy, Maulana Azad National Urdu University organized Dr.B.R.Ambedkar’s 124th Birth Anniversary at Central Library Auditorium.

Mr. K. Madhava Rao (IAS Retd.) Former Chief Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Praveen Kumar(IPS) Secretary, Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (APSWRES), Prof. V.Krishna, Head , Department of Hindi, University of Hyderabad, Prof. Kancha Ilaiah, Director, CSSEIP, Dr.Kwaja M.Shahid, Pro-Vice Chancellor spoke on the occasion.


Dr. Ambedkar remembered at MANUU

All the speakers spoke about the need for understanding and studying Ambedkar’s philosophy of Minority religions and their role in India. They stressed that Ambedkar supported the minority cause and particularly his role in incorporating Articles 29 and 30 in the Constitution of India. Now the Muslims, Christians are asking for their own reservations. In the context of insecurity to Muslims, it is stressed that the Muslim scholars and educationalists must understand Ambedkar more and the need for unity of Minorities, SC, ST and OBCs has to be more emphasized.

The SC/ST teaching and Non-teaching Staff, Members of Ambedkar Students’ Association and University fraternity participated actively in the programme. Function was presided by Vice Chancellor Prof.Mohammad Miyan. In his presidential remarks he emphasized the lessons taught by Baba Saheb Dr.Ambedkar and Maulana Azad . He said that both personalities are milestones for humanity.
