Candidates in fray for various posts of AMU Students’ Union, Court membership

Aligarh: The Chief Election Officer, Prof. (Hakeem) Naeem Ahmad Khan has released a list of eligible candidates to contest for various posts of AMU Students’ Union (AMUSU) and for the membership of AMU Court, the apex body of the University.

Prof, Khan said that after the expiry of the date of withdrawal of nominations, candidates found eligible for the post of President of AMUSU include Leyaqat Khan, Mobashshir Jamal, Mohd. Ali Murtaza and Abdullah Azzam.

For the post of Vice President, Abdul Mueed Ansari, Sayed Avesh and Syed Masoodul Hasan have been found eligible, while Mohammad Anash and Shahzeb Ahmad are allowed to contest for the post of Honorary Secretary.

For ten Cabinet seats, there are thirteen candidates in fray. They are Mohammad Shahwaiz, Pervez Ahmad Ansari, Kehkashan Khanam, Asad Yar Khan, Md. Areful Hoque, Ajay Singh, Saddam Husen, Abdullah Imran, Khalid Ali Khan, Janib Hasan, Md. Ghuphran Khan, Md. Shadab Akhtar and Vaseel K.

For faculty wise representation of AMU students in the AMU Court, several candidates are seeking election to the coveted seat. After scrutiny of nomination papers, candidates found eligible to contest the election are -Hussain Mehdi, Mohd Ismail, Amber Jawaid and Ata Ahmad from Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Faculty of Theology; Tauqeer Ahsan Khan, Mohd Ahmad and Adeel Ahmad from Faculty of Arts; Mohd. Arish Khan, Faisal Nadeem and Mohd. Imran Quadri from Faculty of Commerce; Moughes Ahmad, Imran Ahmad, Hasan Faraz, Ajiv Alam Khan and Atir Hassan Kaunain from Faculty of Engineering & Technology; Ahmad Mujtaba Faraz and Shahab Ahmad from Faculty of Law; Saqib-ul-Kalam and K.M.A.A. Saddam Hussain from Faculty of Life Sciences; Hussain Jafri and Aquarab Ullah Khan from Faculty of Management; Mohammad Maaz Hashmi, Mansoor Ahmad Khan and Faisal Khan from Faculty of Medicine; Shaharyar Alam Ansari and Babu Ali from Faculty of Science; Mohd. Imran Ali, Sabir Ali, Mohd. Haider, Salman Khan and Arshan Khan from Faculty of Social Sciences and Muteeur Rahman and Ataur Rahman from Faculty of Unani Medicine.

The polling for these positions will take place on October 29.
