Will simplify process of organising events in Delhi: Kejriwal

New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said the process of organising events in the national capital will be simplified to benefit event managers residing in the city.

A delegation of event managers representing the Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA) complained to Kejriwal that due to unnecessary red-tapism in Delhi, the city was losing out to neighbouring suburbs of Noida and Gurgaon when it comes to hosting events.

Addressing the group, Kejriwal said: “We will simplify the process and create a single window system for the clearances you want from the state government arms. We will ensure that no bribe is taken from you for the events you conduct.”

“We want to make Delhi the best destination for events,” he said while assuring the delegation that he would talk to all the departments involved in the process of giving clearances to smoothen the process.

Reacting to the complaint that 20 to 30 percent of passes are taken by VIPs which results in losses, Kejriwal asked them to stop entertaining such requests.

“The Delhi government doesn’t want any passes for the events,” Kejriwal said.
