Hyderabad: Popular Front of India (PFI) today launched a campaign to demand the Telengana government to implement the 12% reservation for Muslims as promised by the Chief Minister of Telangana state during the election campaigns as well as in the party’s manifestos during general elections 2014.
“We appreciate the concern shown by Shri K. Chandra Sekhar Rao Garu towards the Muslim community assuring 12% reservation during the election campaigns as well as in the party’s manifesto. We do appreciate some actions carried after coming to power. However, despite being the fact that more than a year has passed since the formation of TRS government no feasible or affirmative actions were carried out toward the Muslims reservation,” said PFI today.
Popular Front of India is organizing a month long campaign from Oct 7th to Nov 7th in order to make aware the public of the facts and to pressure the government to provide 12% reservation with the due procedures.

The poster for this campaign was released today by Mohammed Abdul Ahad, State President of PFI in Telangana, and Syed Shamshad Quadri president of All India Muslim Think Tank Association.
Memorandum submission, postcard campaign, handbills, and other programs are planned to organize as part of the month long campaign.
PFI demanded the government to immediately appoint Backward Classes Commission and ask the Commission to review the States Reservation policy in coordination of SC and ST Commission as the proposed reservations will cross 50% cap and necessary data proof to overcome the cap as it is one of the mandatory variable other that comparative data proof of Muslim Backwardness with existing BCs, SCs and STs.
