Satyashodhak OBC Council pays homage to Maharashtra radical thinker Prabodhankar Thakare

Mumbai: Satyashodhak OBC Council paid homage to Prabodhankar Thakare (17 September 1885 – 20 November 1973), a rationalist who wrote against religious practices and the concept of God. The Council, established by Hanumant Upare, garlanded his statue located in Dadar.

Speaking on the occasion, State Secretary Ulhas Rathod, who garlanded the statue, said, “It is because of a backbone like the Constitution that the OBCs are surviving. Otherwise, Brahmanism would have swallow OBCs. However, we need to wake the OBCs and we are working towards the same. As part of this, I converted from Banjara-Hindu (Nomadic) to Buddhism.”

The programme, attend by members of the council, pledged to take the word of Thakare forward.
