Yogi government in UP ordered registration of Madrasas teacher and students on online portal

Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government has issued a guideline for state owned and state aided Madarssas to “bring transparency, ease of working, and uplift” of madrasas in the state.

It has ordered Madrasa Education Board of Uttar Pradesh to establish a Madarssa web portal where various information shall be uploaded.

All state-affiliated and state-aided Madarssas will have to provide their every information on the portal, including details of every teaching and non-teaching staff of the madrasa. These madrasas will have to upload building details including the dimension of the room on the portal.

Moreover, madrasas will have to accompany in the geo-tagging process by providing their UDISE code. They should also upload the details of students studying in the madrasa.

The order, which is dated July 31, 2017, further states that the software shall help in checking the duplicity of teachers. It claims that the news system will help in improving the quality of education.

According to the order,  the state works on a pretext that Madarssas distribute degree or birth certificate to students which are not the even student there. That’s why the order claims that new system shall stop such practice.

Funds, bills, and grants between Madarsas and the state shall be exclusively through this new online process by from the month of November 2017. As per the order, Madarsa board examination shall be conducted through the same online process.

The order claims that it is a step towards linking madarsas with a “unified eco-system”, and October 15 is set as a last date for the same.

There are around 546 government aided madarsas and more than 19000 government affiliated madarsas in the state. The aforesaid order applies on these two kinds. The order does not apply on madarsas which are privately owned or run by community organizations.

Earlier, the state government had passed an order of flag hoisting and recording independence day celebrations in  the Madarsa of the state.
