JeM militant killed, 2 OWGs arrested

Srinagar :  Police   today claimed that it has killed a Jaish militant  and arrested two persons having allegiance with Al Barq and LeT outfits, besides recovering a huge cache of Arms and Ammunition in separate anti militancy operations on Wednesday across the Valley.

Acting on specific information about possible movement of militants at Zalurah, 8 Kilometers from Watergam area of Sopore in North Kashmir Baramulla district, joint teams of 22 Rashtriya Rifles and police laid ambushes on the identified routes, Defence sources told News Agency of Kashmir.

They said  troopers noticed some persons moving suspiciously in the area and on challenging them they came under heavy fire.

The firing was effectively retaliated by the search party and during the ensuing fire fight one militant was killed.

The slain militant was identified as Mohammed Talah Rehan of Islamabad Pakistan and belongs to JeM outfit.

One AK rifle two magazines and one grenade was recovered from the slain militant. The search of the area is still on.

In another operation  toops of 02 RR apprehended  two persons from Maidanpora Kakasarai Bemina and recovered four hand grenades from their possession.

 The accused have been identified as Shabir Ahmad Dar of Al -Barq outf1t, son of Gh. Mohd , resident of Bemina and Siraj Ahmad Bhat of LeT outfit, son of Habibullah, resident of falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Parimpora,.

Meanwhile, troops of 17 Sikh Regiment during search, operation recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from general area of Bosgi Tulail falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Gurez, Baramulla.

The arms recovered included four AK 56 rifles, 33 AK magazines, 7470 rounds of Ammunition 7.62 mm, five UBGL, 34 UBGL grenades, 22 Hand grenades, two 9mm Pistols, three Pistol magazines, 25 IEDS, six Pouches'. Police has registered a Case in this regard.
