Islamabad : Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf has said a US bill that seeks to link aid to his government's progress in cracking down on Al Qaeda could hurt "the long-standing strategic partnership" between the two countries.
"US authorities should review it. No other country has rendered sacrifices in the war against terrorism like Pakistan," he observed Tuesday while accepting the credentials of US Ambassador Anne W Patterson, Online news agency reported Wednesday.
The president said no terror group, including the Al Qaeda, would be allowed to make Pakistani territory a safe haven for themselves.
The army is fully capable of coping with terrorists in tribal areas of the country, he said.
Pakistan is also using options other than military to counter terrorism because force is not the only way to tackle the issue, Musharraf said.
