Tehran : The Spanish foreign minister called on Iran to use its influence in Lebanon to bring about understanding among the Lebanese groups.
Miguel Angel Moratinos, in a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, also lauded Iran’s constructive and effective role in resolving regional crisis.
Moratinos pointing to his recent visit to the Middle East states including Lebanon, described his talks with Lebanese groups particularly Hezbollah as positive.
He referred to the establishment of a national unity government as the best way out of Lebanon crisis.
Pointing to recent contacts with a number of European and regional counterparts, Mottaki stressed that resolving the current crisis in Lebanon requires comprehensive management and cooperation of all Lebanese groups.
He added that Iran for his part would spare no efforts to solve the Lebanon crisis.
Mottaki also called negotiations as the best option for removing misunderstanding over Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
The Iranian and Spanish foreign ministers also discussed the latest regional developments specially in Lebanon and stressed the need for cooperation for solving Lebanon crisis.
