Islamabad : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to shift the second and fifth one-day internationals (ODIs) against South Africa from Peshawar and Rawalpindi to Lahore and Karachi respectively, it was reported by the media Thursday.

The move was prompted after the South African officials voiced concerns over secutiry in the two cities.

“The decision has been taken after considering the facilities at the respective stadiums,” PCB’s director of operations Zakir Khan was quoted by The Dawn newspaper as saying.

According to the revised schedule, first two matches will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium Oct 18 and 20. The third and fourth matches will be played Oct 23 and 26 at Faisalabad and Multan while Karachi will host the last match Oct 29.

Though the PCB has taken the stance that poor facilities at the two venues forced the change, it is clear that security in Peshawar and Rawalpindi was a cause for worry due to series of bomb blasts in recent weeks.
