The programme includes zero percent interest schemes on loans, exchange of old tractors, labour free service and health check-up for farmers, the company said Monday.

“Swatantrata Mahotsav acknowledges and celebrates the importance of the Indian farmer and agriculture in shaping the future of the Indian economy,” said Avinash Patankar, Senior Vice President Sales and Channel Development, Farm Equipment Sector, M&M.

“Over the past six decades, Mahindra has been able to build a huge customer base of over 1.2 million customers by focussing on customer-centric initiatives and designing its products, services and offerings, in consonance with the farmer’s needs. Swatantrata Mahotsav is another customer-centric initiative that will bring smiles to the faces of farmers.”

The company on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of India’s independence has also decided to extend its unique “Jai Jawan se Jai Kisan” rehabilitation scheme for the armed force personnel.

“Under the scheme Mahindra tractors will be made available for the armed force personnel at attractive prices across Mahindra tractor dealerships,” Patankar said.
