Amman, Aug 19 (Xinhua) Jordan’s King Abdullah II Sunday decided to dismantle parliament and hold legislative elections, television channel Al-Jazeera reported.
The report said that Abdullah II issued a decree dismantling the 110-seat lower house of parliament ahead of a legislative election due to take place in November.
According to a palace statement, the lower house will be considered dismantled as of Monday but no date was announced for the polls, which must take place before the end of November.
In June 2003, Jordan held its last legislative election, Al-Jazeera said.
