Daraa, Syria : Minister of Finance Mohammad al-Hussein and Minister of Interior Bassam Abdelmajid held a meeting on Saturday in the Nusaib border checkpoint in Daraa governorate.
The ministers reviewed work and the services provided to travelers entering and leaving Syria, in addition to the requirements of the border checkpoints that are needed to improve their performance and the difficulties they face.
The ministers pointed out to the importance of the Nusaib checkpoint as Syria’s southern gate to the neighboring Arab countries, stating that this center is the most advanced in Syria and that it requires some improvement and more efforts to provide the best services to travelers.
They added that border checkpoints leave a good impression on travelers and improve the country’s reputation of good and fast services, calling for cooperation and coordination between concerned authorities to provide these services.
Later, the ministers inspected the checkpoint’s facilities, including the main entrances, arrival and departures halls, immigrations and visa departments, sanitary facilities, Syrian Commercial Bank branch and the old Daraa checkpoint.
The ministers also inspected the course of work and were briefed by the staff on the services provided to travelers and their needs and requirements. In addition, they listened to the comments and suggestions of a number of Arab and foreign travelers.
