Kolkata : Left-arm medium pacer Sohail Tanveer and manager Talat Ali are the latest to join those laid down due to fever or injuries in the Pakistan team.
Captain Shoaib Malik is already missing the ongoing second Test against India with an ankle injury.
Malik’s left ankle, which was twisted while playing football in Delhi, is in plaster and he might also miss the third and final Test starting in Bangalore Saturday.
“His ankle has been put in a plaster and it will be cut in Bangalore on Thursday,” Pakistan team’s media co-ordinator Javed Akhtar told IANS Sunday.
It looks increasingly doubtful that Malik, in whose absence Younis Khan is leading Pakistan in the second Test here, would be able to recover fully for the crucial Test.
Despite being down with fever Tanveer came to the stadium while Talat preferred to rest in his hotel and follow the game on television for the second consecutive day.
