CS for universalization of e-governance in Govt. Deptts

Srinagar : Describing e-governance as an important tool for providing effective, efficient, transparent and responsive Administrative matters delivery system, Chief Secretary Mr. B. R. Kundal exhorted all the officers to adopt the mechanism of e-governance for people-friendly administration.

Kundal was speaking at a workshop on ‘e-Government for Smart Governance’ organized by Jammu and Kashmir Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPA&RD), in collaboration with National Institute for Smart Government, (NISG) Hyderabad, here today.

The workshop was attended by all Financial Commissioners, Principal/Commissioner secretary, Heads of various departs, Director General of Police and senior civil and police officers.

Complementing the IMPA & RD for organizing such a rare workshop in the state Mr. Kundal said that workshop would sensitize the senior offices of the administration to develop an understanding of various components of e-governance.

Asking the officers to learn the nitty-gritty’s of e-governance and implement it in their respective departments to bring transparency he said it would minimize work load and provide hassle free delivery to the people.

Chief Executive Officer, NISG, Hyderabad Mr. J. Satyanarayana in his keynote address elaborated the principles of e-governance, highlighted National e-governance programme and understanding of e-government project development. He said that Jharkhand state is taking lead in e-governance as 33 departments are fully e-governed.

Others who deliberated various component of e-governance included, General Manager, NISG, Mr. Piyash Gupta and former e-Governance Advisor to World Bank, Professor Subhash Bhatnagar.

Director General IMPA and RD Mr. Madhav Lal in his welcome address highlighted various activities and achievements of the IMPA.
