“We have included the name of Azad Yadav, the father of the accused, in the first information report (FIR) for casually and improperly handling the fire arms,” Gurgaon Police Commissioner Mahender Lal told IANS.

“Yadav has not been arrested yet but we have fanned out teams,” he added.

The police have sent teams to the ancestral village of the accused after he and his family went into hiding.

The firing took place Tuesday in the Euro International School, which claims to be an institution of global stature, in Sector 45 of Gurgaon close to the national capital.

According to the police, Yadav’s son stole his licensed revolver and smuggled it into the school after hiding it in his socks. This Class-8 student with another student then gunned down their classmate Abhishek Tyagi, 14, near the staircase just after the school hours.

They collectively fired five shots. Tyagi sustained two shots in chest and one in head. He died on the spot. The police later arrested the assailants and they were sent in 14 days judicial custody in juvenile home in Faridabad by a city magistrate.
