The issue is listed in the agenda of the cricket board’s working committee, which meets here to take a decision on a host of issues.
The former India captain had sought compensation for not continuing to write his newspaper column as instructed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
This issue led to a face-off between Vengsarkar and the BCCI, which said that his comments in his column clashed with his job as the chairman of selectors.
Vengsarkar met BCCI president Sharad Pawar and other top officials during the Kolkata Test against Pakistan this month but the issue remained unresolved.
He is believed to have estimated his loss at Rs.4 million.
According a top BCCI official, Vengsarkar met Pawar and BCCI president-elect Shashank Manohar here Saturday again and discussed the issue ahead of the working committee meeting.
While asking Vengsarkar to stop writing his column, the board had issued a set of guidelines for all five selectors. It is believed these guidelines were also discussed at the meeting held at Pawar’s residence.
