Indian art lovers visit exhibition of Pakistani artists

NEW DELHI, Dec. 16 (APP): A large number of Indian art lovers and critics visited exhibition of Pakistani artists held in Mumbai.

In all twenty eight Pakistani artists participated in the exhibition “Indus Strokes” jointly organised by Ishi Jami from Pakistan and Ritu Jain from India in association with other organisations including Pakistan International Airlines.

Ishi Jami told APP that the aim of the exhibition was to promote peace through art between Pakistan and India. The Indo-Pak exhibition on art would be held in mid of next year in Lahore with the same purpose of promoting peace in the region.

The renowned Indian Bollywood actress Shabana Azami inaugurated the exhibition while another Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah will be the Chief Guest on Tuesday.

The creative works on display are based on diversity of expression from every region and will include the classic genres, the abstracts, figuratives, the references to traditional schools of calligraphy and the extraordinary modern miniature development that has emerged in recent years. There will be a very prominent section on miniature art also.

Ishi Jami said the exhibition gave the art enthusiasts of Mumbai an opportunity to view the work of leading artists of Pakistan who depicted true pictures of cultural and artistic values of Pakistan.
