Saudi official affirms end of Hajj season with no major incidents

Riyadh : Saudi Interior Minister and Chairman of the hajj Supreme Committee Prince Naif bin Abdul-Aziz affirmed Saturday that the hajj season has ended with no major accidents occurring.

During a reception ceremony for Interior forces working in the hajj season, Prince Naif said that the authorities have achieved success during the grand spiritual event, lauding the efforts by Saudi forces in facilitating the rituals for pilgrims.

On his part, Saudi director of public security and Chairman of the hajj security committee Lieut-General Saed Al-Qahtani said that the plans for the current hajj season had succeeded in lessening problems faced by Pilgrims.

He went on saying that the committee has order forces to follow up the rituals step by step, pointing out that a special command was established to supervise the movement of pilgrims.

Saudi forces Friday spoiled several terrorist plans which were aimed at disrupting the hajj rituals.
