“There is no truth to such reports that were leaked by the Hebrew media as we can’t talk about truce with the IOF troops while they continue killing our people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank”, said Dr. Ismael Redwan, the prominent political leader of Hamas in Gaza Strip, in an interview with the ‘Voice of the Aqsa’ radio.

He also affirmed that the Palestinian resistance will continue till the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian lands ends, adding that the problem wasn’t in the Palestinian party, but rather it was in the court of the “Zionist” occupation that continue aggressions against the unarmed Palestinian people that killed 21 Palestinians within three days.

Furthermore, Redwan stressed that the matter of truce with Israel wasn’t on Hamas’s agenda for the time being, adding that the resistance against the Israeli occupation is a legal right of the Palestinian people already sanctioned by international laws and conventions.

He also explained that any [future] truce with the Israeli occupation must gain the blessing of the Palestinian people and should be part of a comprehensive deal in which the Israeli occupation government should [publicly] recognize the legal rights of the Palestinian people.

“The Israeli occupation government knows no language but the language of force, and any truce with the Israeli occupation needs harmony and approval from all concerned Palestinian factions”, confirmed Redwan.

Redwan made it clear that it was the nature of the Israeli occupation government of not respecting truces with the Palestinians citing Israel’s breaching of previous calms agreed between the two parties.

Two Israeli ministers, Shaul Mofaz of the transportation portfolio, and Binyamin Ben Aliezer of the infrastructure ministry declared their support for Israeli truce with Hamas Movement, and agreed to Israeli talks with the Movement with Egyptian mediation.
