Islamabad : The investigations on the attack against a mosque in the Pakistani city of Peshawar are still on Saturday, said the local authorities which gave information on the arrest of several people possibly linked in the event.
The number of dead people went up to 56, and the injured people are 120.
A special team of investigators is in the place and they made AND tests to human remains identified as remains of the suicide man who detonated a bomb inside the mosque.
The explosion was produced in the moment of greater attendance of followers, since they were on the Aid Al Adha Day, one of their most important celebrations.
The man who detonated the bomb was carrying nearly 5 kilograms of explosives and managed to evade the metal detectors at the entrance of the mosque, the police informed.
Former Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao was with his family in the place, taking part in the celebration, and he came unharmed, but one of his children was injured.
The attacks of this kind are frequent against governmental forces, above all in bordering zones, since the Red Mosque, in Islamabad, was the scenery of a military operation against 500 people in July.
