Iran, Libya economic cooperation not exclusively in Africa – Iran First Vice-President

Tehran : Iran’s First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi said economic cooperation between Iran and Libya is not exclusively in Africa.

Davoudi after meeting with Libyan prime minister El-Baghdadi Ali El-Mahmoudi and attending the signing ceremony for 10 agreements and MoUs participated in a joint press conference with his Libyan counterpart.

In the press conference, Iran’s Minister of Economic and Finance Davoud Danesh Jaafari and Minister of housing and Urban Planning Mohammad Saeedi Kia were present too.

Davoudi said the aim of his visit to Libya is to promote bilateral relations especially in political, economic and cultural fields.

He added, “Developing ties with Muslims, revolutionary and African countries are among priorities of Iran’s foreign policy.

Davoudi continued that Iran’s president and Libyan leader have strong will and intention to increase bilateral ties.

Referring to Tehran and Tripoli cooperation in Latin America, Davoudi said, “The cooperation between the two countries is not limited to the African continent.”

On his trip to Djibouti, Davoudi said, “Expansion of ties with African countries is one of the priorities of Iran foreign policy.”

Referring to the huge natural resources of Africa, Davoudi said, “Iran also has a high potential of technical and engineering possibilities and in this concern we have good experiences in Central Asia, South America, East Asia and the Middle East.”

The First vice-president arrived in Tripoli on Wednesday afternoon and is scheduled to travel to Djibouti after his 2-day official visit to Libya.
