Dozens of angry people waiting to receive their family members ambushed senior airport officials demanding to know the status of the flight that arrived in Kolkata on Wednesday but was detained there overnight due to inclement weather.

Agitated family members and relatives clashed with the airport officials and ransacked a counter only to learn that the two flights arriving from Jeddah would not touch the Patna airport until Thursday afternoon.

Deputed security officials at the airport interfered and controlled the situation giving explanation that due to some technical problem in the communication system of the airport resulted breakdown in public announcement structure.

The two flights finally landed at Patna Airport at 2:30 pm and 4:45 pm on Thursday.
