The train, which was cancelled following violence in Pakistan after the Bhutto assassination, resumed its return journey Monday. It was subject to stone pelting near Lahore, passengers said.

The train runs twice a week between Lahore in Pakistan and Attari here.

“We were scared by the stone pelting, but are happy to be back,” a woman passenger said.

According to other passengers, violence was widespread in Pakistan in the days immediately following Bhutto’s killing but things were a little better now.
