Bhopal : At least six people, including two children, have died due to heavy monsoon showers in Madhya Pradesh in the past two days, but weather officials say there could be some respite from the continuous rains.
"Three people were killed in rain-related incidents in Betul and three more in Khargone," an official said.
While heavy rains are not expected in the next three days, light showers may be seen in Ujjain and Indore districts in the coming days, the meteorological department said.
The low-pressure area, which caused a downpour in several areas, is now moving towards Gujarat but mild rain is expected in Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Chambal and Jabalpur, said D.P. Dubey, met department director.
Small rivers and rivulets in Jhabua, Badwani, Khandwa and Khargone districts were in spate due to the downpour, blocking roads and inundating low-lying areas.
While Badwani received a rainfall of 199 mm, Khandwa got 185 mm and Betul recorded 170 mm. Bhopal experienced pleasant weather Tuesday due to light showers in the morning.
