Baghdad : Some 18 people were killed and another 40 injured when a car bomb exploded in the Shaab district of Baghdad, the Aswat al-Iraq new agency reported Wednesday referring to police reports.
The bomb was detonated near a busy market Tuesday night.
According to the police most of the victims were women and children.
The explosion also destroyed 13 shops and several cars.
