Srinagar : A civilian was injured after unidentified persons believed to be militants lobbed a hand grenade at busy Hari Singh High Street in summer capital Srinagar , while police recovered an unidentified body near Bilal colony in Qamarwari area here today.
Police sources told News Agency of Kashmir that unidentified militants lobbed a hand grenade at Hari Singh High Street.
The grenade exploded on the road-side causing injuries to a civilian identified as Bashir Ahmed son of Abdul Aziz resident of Dalgate Srinagar.
While the injured was immediately shifted to hospital, Police launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.
Meanwhile, Police recovered an unidentified dead body from river Jhelum near Bilal colony Qamarwari, Srinagar.
The deceased is a male around 55 year of age, 5 feet 7 inches in height and wearing a Khan-dress.
Police has taken cognizance and initiated proceedings under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of death.
