PLO Executive Committee member Ghassan Al-Shakaa told KUNA Thursday an official decision one way or another would be issued. "But all members have said they were in favour of early elections for the Legislative Assembly and presidency alike," he said.

He said the early elections provided a suitable way out of the current political dilemma.

Commenting on Hamas' remarks describing as unconstitutional the decision to dismiss parliament, Shakaa said "Hamas itself is unconstitutional by adopting such an attitude."

Meanwhile, the head of the Fatah bloc of MPs within the National Assembly, Azzam Al-Ahmad, said in an indirect allusion to Hamas, "when someone breaks the rules, he has no right to make any remarks about others doing so."

Member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Khaleda Jarrar said the best way out of the political crisis was to conduct "fresh general elections on the basis of proportional representations."
